About This Blog
My name is Tom Weeks and I was born in the summer of 1942 while my dad was off making the world safe for democracy. This bit of information should let you know I’m getting a little long in the tooth. I spent 1960 through 1964 in the U.S. Navy. During that time I realized I was not really cut out for the military. It has taken me much more time to realize that there are precious few things that I am cut out for. Nevertheless, thanks to the Navy, I got to see a lot of the world, having made two cruises in the Sixth Fleet (Mediterranean). In fact there are few ports-of-call along the Mediterranean coast in which I have not gotten snockered.
I started writing while I was in the Navy and have not been able to stop. Although I have had a few articles and short stories published in obscure “literary” journals and pulp magazines (all now deservedly out of business), I have not become the darling of the Literati that I always thought I should be. For the last twenty-odd years, my literary output has consisted of writing way too many letters-to-the-editor in newspapers I don’t read. Thanks to modern technology my time has come! I am now a blogger, and as long as I keep paying my Web-hosting fees, I will be published (that’s not necessarily
the same as being read, but I quibble). I can now write until my fingers bleed! I think I’m already developing a blister.
